A lease termination may be amended if the arbitrator is satisfied that the person receiving the notice knew or should have known the information contained in the communication and, in the current circumstances, it is appropriate to amend the notice (see (68).2) The data is self-correcting, so the termination is not invalid simply because a landlord offers to end the tenancy on a date prior to the RTA. Tenants should never ignore a communication, even if they feel it is poorly worded. .
