Google wave was previewed recently and there is a very good presentation on youtube. Alternatively here is a link to the google web site.
They are very keen for the development community to take on the API and start developing add-ons. I was impressed with the instant translation during an IM session. It translated every letter and then re-worked the sentence as it became more complete. Very impressive! Also the integration possibilities seemed almost endless with 90% of the features available via API.
So will it really shake up email as we know it? Most people ‘live’ in Outlook or some email application one way or another. A growing number use Twitter or Facebook but underneath the lowest common denominator is still email. The neat thing about Wave is that it does have the potential to compete with email. You can ‘live’ in Wave as it will surely integrate with Google everything. How long become Wave becomes the heart of Unified Comms? Google apps + Wave….
